Although your home won’t need a designated fire system, Carolina Burglar will install and connect smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and heat detectors to your burglar system, to ensure that the fire department responds as soon as possible to prevent injuries and minimize damage.
When your home was initially built, the contractors/builder installed smoke detectors in various locations to meet building code. These are basic detectors that alarm locally (in the house). The alarm will not result in the fire department being dispatched. You would need to call 911 after the alarm goes off to alert the fire department and have them dispatched. This takes time. And during a real event, when you are trying to ensure your family is safe, is not when you need to focus on making a phone call.
Three main sensors for home fire systems:
The fire system is tied into your burglar system so that when a sensor (i.e., smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, etc.) alarms, it sends a signal to the monitoring station to dispatch emergency personnel.
The smoke detectors that are typically installed in a house, alarm locally and do not feed back to a monitoring station. So the smoke detector will alarm in the residence, but emergency personnel will not be dispatched.
If you are comfortable with only a local alarm, then the smoke detectors that are in your house will be just fine.
